Pride

A whole month to celebrate one of the seven deadly sins

Pride

The Bible has a lot to say about Pride

Pride is known as one of the seven deadly sins.  While all sin is deadly, pride has the unique characteristic of rejecting God's Word on the human condition. The Pride movement has hijacked the rainbow - a Christian symbol which God promised Noah to not destroy the earth by flood again. In the last decade, successive western nations have legalised same-sex marriage. Many of those who opposed the change legalise same sex marriage warned that this change seems to have opened Pandora’s box of social change.  That warning is being fulfilled before our eyes.

Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.

Proverbs 16:18

The co-opting of the rainbow by the LGBTQI+ movement is a perversion of the Bible. The Pride Progress flag is a symbol of conquest and revolution.  Even though 'Pride Month' started as an American phenomenon, it has swept up and consumed the globe.  In June 2023, Pride Progress flags covered trains, buses, bush shelters and hung from nearly every public building in the city of Sydney. The City of Sydney decorated the CBD with this symbol as if it were Christmas.

Make no mistake, the trans-agenda has claimed its ground and by and large, the church has failed to publicly respond to this elephant in the room.  The consequences are that many souls are being swept away by this dangerous ideology.  Today, Pride activists even chant 'We're Here, We're Queer, We're Coming for Your Children.  God has a lot to say about those who bring harm to little ones. Christian parents should make every effort to protect their children as gifts from God.  We will give an account if we place children in harms way.

God will keep His promise that He will not destroy the world by a flood again.  However, neither will God be mocked. God did not promise that He will never destroy the earth again. On the contrary, God says this world is reserved for judgement by fire.

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.

Galations 6:7

God will judge this world perfectly when Jesus returns as King. Therefore, as Christians, while it should sadden us when we see the moral decline of society, we should also recognised that it is not our job to take our anger out on those who reject Him or hate us because we follow Him.

Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD.

Romans 12:19

So, when we see immodest displays of Pride, the correct response is to firstly reject pride in ourselves. The fruit of the Spirit is humility and we should recognised but for the grace of God, our own pride would condemn us. One day, we will live in a world that is completely free of all sin. Until then, we live not for the culture of this world, but for the King of eternity.
